SYDNEY UNIVERSITY MEN'S SQUASH CLUB

COMPETITION

The Squash Club welcomes new members to represent the University of Sydney in the Sydney Pennant Squash Competition.

The Club participates in the South/Eastern District Pennant Competition. The Club has teams of all standards from A to D Grade.

Two pennant competitions are held every year. Autumn Pennant usually begins in early March while Spring pennant usually begins in early August. Each competition lasts 4½ months.

Each team consists of 5-6 players and competition is played on weeknights at the Manning Squash Courts. However, only 4 players are required to play on a competition night.

There are six teams in each grade with teams playing against each other three times at home and away. Each team has a nominated night and time for their home games. The home team also provides supper for the visiting team.

The 2nd and 3rd teams after 15 rounds play in the semi-final to challenge the 1st team in the grand final to determine the champion team.

Competition fees for club members are amongst the cheapest in Sydney.

Club members who are students are eligible to play Inter-Varsity against other universities.

There is also an annual Club Championship for A and B grade players. This is played in the form of a knock-out competition with the winners and runners-up receiving trophies.
